Sunrise Service

A perfect Mommy-Son Easter sunrise date
I didn't set an alarm
I asked God to wake me at 5:30am
I love you prompt angels!
No one was on the roads and we found a perfect parking space
I put your shoes on and the band started playing so we walked to the Lincoln in festive worship
The sun was just starting to rise
You wouldn't let go of your Easter basket!

It was such a beautiful morning we had a breakfast picnic on the potomac
Under cherry blossoms

Eating under pink blossoms is known to enhance flavor

Your non-knee crawl!
We ate organic peaches, avocado, & raisin toast with vegan butter
Then we climbed trees

Barefoot.
Got nice & muddy (Daddy wasn't there!)

What is it about staring up into fairy filled blossoms?
Totally peaces us out

Had it not been for God's gift of sunrise which I believe encapsulates Easter, we probably would not have stayed for the service. I took great offense to a opening, "This is not a PC sermon joke," and to the cheering crowd as I felt that, this does not feel like Easter feeling. I don't think it is valuable taste to mock other religions jokingly or serious, because political tensions and past violence is enough to prove that righteousness is a steep climb to judgmentalism and justification for acts that no God could justify humans engaging. We were not sitting in a church, you could not understand the words, it was Easter, the sun was rising, and we could walk about freely so we stayed and worshipped in our own quiet way among the crowds. We left when dismissed and took our time leaving stopping on the potomac for breakfast and play time. Sadly, Daddy was working and GG was sleeping so we enjoyed Easter morning just the two of us, God, Cherry blossoms, and crowd. Our hope restored, the light of the world is here, living inside of us forever.
