We had a fun party with a group of homeschoolers celebrating a wonderful year of learning. We made a craft, read Oh! The Places You'll Go, had a crossing over ceremony, shared refreshments, and played games. Shadden's organized the games. We played parachute, red light green light, Simon says, duck duck goose, sack race, three-legged race, and called it a day despite pleas to play more games. Shadden and Kealana enjoyed the craft. They were so intent on hearing the story Shadden even asked other kids to quiet down and asked me to reread pages (yikes!). When it came time for the ceremony, the beginning kids had to be coaxed to "cross over" the bridge into the next grade level. Not Shadden! Shadden ran full speed across the bridge blasting and jumping into Kindergarten and off the stage! It took us all by surprise, but was so true of his nature, bowling right through everything! Shadden has always owned his development doing everything at his own speed much to the stunned Mama on the sidelines too slow to even take a picture.
