Ohhh! Shadden, your day came!!!!! You were THRILLED to meet your baby sister. You ran and showed me your special big brother balloons. You were a little concerned seeing Mommy in recovery on a stretcher tied up with cords, funny hospital hat, and warmer machines blowing. You greeted me with your usual loving sunshine and wanted to know about every apparatus and medical device, and became taken away with glee upon seeing Kealana! You held her in your proud, excited, big brother arms, and exuded pure loving adoration in only the way a brother can!
It's so beautiful to watch you become a big brother. We always knew God made you for the role. Your love instincts are so sharp! You radiate cheer, kindness, and affection and your sister is already smiling in acceptance! You enjoy holding her small hands and examining every precious baby part saying, "ohhh it's so cuuute! Sooo tiny!" You are quick to note her whereabouts and zoom to her side with brotherly embraces. The first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night is spread affections upon Kealana. We sleep family style with Kealana upon Mommy's chest, you snug upon my shoulder between Daddy and Mommy. Hero is on the floor, Duma either cuddles on Daddy or with Hero, and Hana sleeps on you or under the bed. I can't tell you how grateful I was in prayer that first night home in the cozy knowing that our entire family was snuggled up together tight as a bundle of tied twigs. It was the perfect feeling after three long hospital nights of separation.
It's hard adjusting to Mommy's recovery condition, but you've been such a trooper! You usually have your legs entwined on me as well as your upper body, but we have had to make amendments. It was so sad-our first night reunited at home-you accidentally put your leg across Mama's stomach. I yelped in pain and you burst into tears and we both cried because you were so sad you hurt me and didn't want me to have to go back to the hospital and I in raw pain. Your dad protectively fumed, "this is never going to work!" But I know you too well and knew it would. You are careful of my stomach and eager to please and love. We have slept together in naps and bedtime wonderfully. When Kealana awakes you, "shhh! Shhh!" her kindly back to sleep and caress her cheek and hand. It's so sweet! We adore that big 'ole heart of yours so much!
I wish I could mend swifter and stronger for you and your sister, but you've been amazing adjusting to my bed ridden limited capabilities. Thankfully Daddy and Nana are here to keep you active and in play. You and Nana have breakfast and play Fireman Small and "Fire Lady" everyday and Daddy has been supplying you with surprise trips to special playgrounds, Kids N' Motion "the bouncer," Little Gym classes, My Gym, Music Together, Sled rides, bikes rides, etc.

Seriously cute! When is Robert coming back to work so I can give miss K her baby quilt?? Either that or I can drop it off?
