The Bike

It was freezing cold out. Daddy had just finished working 12 hours. I was wondering why he was late. Then, the knock on the door and his head popping through, "Can you bring Shadden outside?" Sounding a bit too much like Grandpa Gulley cooking up surprises, I had to peek through the window and sure enough....a bike! The bike and helmet you've been asking for several times a day when you see other kids riding, read about in "Duck on a Bike," and sat on in REI. My baby boy who wants to be a big boy and do all the fun things big boys do. Sigh! The bike is too large and the helmet for a three year old, but that means little to you because, it's your first bike!

Yes, Mama's here!
You continually looked over to make sure I was watching!
It made me so happy inside!!

Proud Papa
Cracking up & riding
This is so much fun!!!

Thanks Dadda!

You wouldn't let us put the bike back inside without another neighborhood spin
Your fingers were freezing but you wouldn't let go of the handle bars except to point to the sidewalk saying, "mah! mah!" aka "more," and tired Daddy complied smiling equally bright.

Made me cry, I so lived the moment with you and Bobby! "He's a good Dad", Gpa said when he saw them, I said "He learned from you".
Reminded me of My Dad when he would bring Bobby Big surprises at the same age!
How blessed we are as the generations continue in love.
Thanks for sharing!
