Shaking your tambourine to the music

The thought of taking you in the cold for two hours past your bedtime to bring you home to a cold house left me wondering if maybe I shouldn't take you to the Tree Lighting. But then, two sweet calls came. There was a cancellation. Grandpa Gulley found us a furnace repairman who could come in the next hour! Praise God for the ability to have heat! Just in time for our 30 below degree nights!!
So we made hot chocolate along with dinner, had a bath and covered your footed pajamas with more fleece and down coats, and got into the car. I explained we were going to see the Tree light up and you kept clapping in the backseat. We drove down excited! You were ready! "Sing! Siii!" So we sang the entire way. I rolled down our windows as we approached and you could hear the music and crowds and clapped from the backseat. We parked and you let out excitement screams and pointed. 5-4-3-2-1!!!!!!!!! Lights!!! We watched the Holiday show with you on my shoulders and I kept thinking to myself this is so worth the late bedtime!! You swayed, shook your tambourine, and let out a few singing notes. Hard to believe your rocking out the way you are at only 1 year old!!!!?!! It was a blast! You loved the dancers, singing, lights, and Santa. You cried "NO!" when I tried to get you to leave and clung to the bars where you could see a red suit behind. So we stayed a little longer and sang the whole way home with you clapping your hands while I unparalleled and I thought about how I didn't come when I was pregnant and I was so glad I waited to come with you because nothing could be more exciting than seeing your excitement.
