Pumpkins!!!
It's grasshopper weather!
We've been enjoying playing outside in our warm October
Fall mums for Mommy's hair...thanks baby!
Everyday you pick me roses from the jungle-garden!
Friday Night Lights are here!
This makes your Dad a lot happier than your Mom

We had a great time at Mount Vernon's Fall Festival together

The horse was a bit more exciting than the horseshoer. You wanted to know her name, age, what she ate, and where her Mommy and Daddy were.

This activity was all about the stick
You made sure you found the longest stick for Mommy and yourself to use

Roasting apples

YUM!
You asked if we could do this again sometime

The hammer dulcimer

You heard George Washington's itinerant band playing and had to run to over to see it and listen closely. Entranced! You loved every song and clapped for them and asked me questions about their clothing, what kind of music it was, the name of every song, and what the man was playing. You were too shy to ask the band yourself so you asked me to ask them every question.

You keep asking me to play George Washington's band for you to listen to it!

Corn husk dolls

The hay maze was a hoot!

You quickly realized you could climb up OVER the hay!

You are my Autumn Prince! I just love how excited you get about everything! You point out special Autumn trees to me, pick me beautiful fall leaf and nut bouquets (you prefer the red leaves), you try on your costume and have to have every article of it on and ask me what everyone else will be, you talk about bobbing for apples just like George does in "the costume party," you fill your Halloween pinata with glee, ask to make fall cookies and cupcakes and help me pick out special sprinkles, you are a cider fanatic and ask to make apple juice daily, you woke up crying mid way through nap when you realized we left a fall festival without going on a hayride and picking a pumpkin! You get so excited for family fun days when Daddy is home and we all go together somewhere. You get yourself ready and wait by the door and beg us to take the big family car. Little movie weasel you know there is a DVD player in there. You remember everything and want to do it all. You have always tried to be so big so quickly I look at you sometimes and remember you are only two.
We have been working through strong emotions. Sometimes you get upset and frustrated because you want to be able to do something perfectly the first time. Sometimes you feel something so strongly inside you fall over collapsing to the ground in a heap of emotion or run to the couch to console your baby. So we cry and talk and pray it all goes where it needs to go.
You have strong clothing preferences. Everything has to be soft and preferably just like Daddy, cowboy, or fireman. You get upset when I try to put a coat over your selection because, "you won't be able to see it!" Dear me!!?!?!! My little fashionista I don't know what I am going to do with you! Who says that at age two?!?!! Thankfully, you are ready to reason out a verbal agreement and rational why you have to wear certain items and comply easily. You like to put your shoes on by yourself and are learning to match up your big toes and learn the front from the rear on clothes but sometimes we have backwards underoos and right and left shoes a little mixed up.
