Christmas in Michigan!

I don't know how we'll ever top your first Christmas. It was that good. We came to Michigan before Daddy and had fun playing at Grandma's house. You were an angel baby traveling. When we saw Nana at the airport waiting for us you nuzzled into her, kissed her, let her hold and kiss you, and were your baby Bobcat charming self. The car ride to Grandma's was a different story. You were so tired so Mommy had to sit in back with you and sing songs with lots and lots of motions to occupy your attention. Some of your favorites, "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and "The Wheels on the Bus."

You and Grandma got to be buddies. Grandma would come to see you and play with you and when she would leave the room to do an errand she would call for you and you would follow her. This became your game of hide and seek together. Grandma taught you how to wave while we were there and taught you the word, "baby."

You had fun body wrestling Nana and loved giving her kisses as much as Mommy. Maybe just a tad moister. You also loved kissing your cousin Savannah! You chased after her, Hailey, and Aunty Tina's baby Lily. Uncle Ryan was definitely a hit with you and all the cousins. Everyone wanted to play with him! Uncle Ryan woke up with the early risers and played crafts with Hailey and Savannah and wildcat style with you. Uncle Jeff and Aunt Rebecca were also loved upon and took turns holding you and playing with you.

You and Savannah developed a classic position which you did probably 200 times. Savannah would bring her face close to yours and you would lean together and touch foreheads, kiss, and hold onto one another. Ridiculously cute! Hailey offered you toys to play with and kept a careful eye to not disturb you when you moved about.

After a fun filled day of crafts, playing, dinner, and opening family gifts on Christmas Eve, I heard Hailey say something precious, "I think this is a really good Christmas." She said it softly to herself so I asked her to repeat her comment. The room hushed and Hailey shared and embellished her soliloquy with the family, "I think this is a good Christmas. I got the present that I wanted most (a baby parrot you feed with a bottle from Daddy), but the best present of all is all being together." We couldn't agree more!
