Hawaii: Family Style

So, the best thing about moving to California?  We have taken two trips to Hawaii in the two and a half months we have lived here.  Yes, the five hour plane ride is a mere stepping stone to land in Aloha.  Because Hawaii is just that wonderful.  Every time we come home and feel the dry California air crackling our skin we linger on those days of bliss and plan our next trip.  Hawaii will always be the best place on the planet.

Now we get to experience Hawaii with kids.  Introducing it's delicacies-which basically means a lot of feasting-shave ice everyday?  Mochi?  Poi?  Guava juice?  Macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup?  Don't mind if we do.

We all enjoyed staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, visiting with family (baseball on the beach at night!), beach hopping, and liliokoi ice cream...did I mention we were eating Hawaiian food?  Ah yes.  Paradise.  Paradise.  Paradise.  Cue ukelele music...

Shadden loves getting time with Papa!

The jellyfish at the aquarium were a big hit

Beach naps
Note:  SHAKA!!!

"it's cold!"
Don't let the face fool you.  She downed the mochi azuki bean shave ice.

Kealana's, "woof!  woof!" she says everytime she sees a dog.
Dog was her first word!
Malasadas
Shadden still asks for the purple donuts (taro malasadas)

I adore having a girl...bracelet shovel?

So when are we going back?
