This is the story

of a boy

and his cat

both liked to ramble
in open air

the boy was curious

just like his cat

he liked the fun his cat had pouncing in leaves and jumping in brush

and so he followed his cat

and they explored

and delighted in the moment

through keen cat senses

the boy grew

and learned

and the cat loved him
A few weeks ago, I was changing your diaper and we were talking about love. You told me you loved, "Dad-dY, Dadd-O, AANd Mommy BOtH!" Melt. Now, you like to use both frequently. Duma and Hana...Both! It's usually always spoken with exclamation (excited).
It's February, and we've already had two 70 degree days! Alongside with the coldest winter and all this global warming starts your Mom a thinking...what is this summer going to be like? My spring flowers are already a few inches out of the ground. The trees are budding. I'm thinking the tulips might be over by the time Easter comes. I wonder just how different the climate is going to be for you than it was for me growing up. It makes me wish our environment was a top domestic and foreign policy priority.
I can't wait for the day we'll ride on camels in the desert of Egypt to one of the great wonders of the world and talk about how the people held protests to communicate to their government that it was not just and they did not want it to serve them as it did and how they managed to change it by courageously standing up for their beliefs.
We read Whole World and sang it over and over again tonight. You sat on my lap and we turned pages and put the trees and people into our hands-just like God. Sometimes the world can seem so big and difficult and in a song I am reminded that truth is simple enough for a child. God has us and the whole world in his hands. And we have God and the whole world in ours.
"Hear what the Lord says: Rise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. 2Hear, you mountains, the controversy of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for the Lord has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel....He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6: 1-2,8
