Yes! Michigan

We had the best time on vacation in Michigan. The BEST time! You played with Grandma and Nana. We swam everyday in either Lake Michigan or Grandma's Magician Lake or both. You made friends, went on your first tubing ride, watched your first firework show on the 4th of July, and ate fresh Michigan sweet corn, potato salad, green beans, blueberries, cherries, raspberries, cole slaw, strawberry shortcake, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, and grew.

I have about 600 pictures I wish I could post. I have memories with no pictures. Grandma came back from exercise class one morning as we were just waking up and heading out with Hero. Grandma not only came along on our walk she suggested the wagon to which you fetched then Grandma ran, i repeat RAN along the road pulling you in it because it made you laugh. She swerved side to side and went fast just the way you like it. You are going to grow up thinking your Great Grandma is tougher than anyone and...you'll be right! We walked over the bridge stopping to talk to every neighbor along the way to Sandy's house just like I used to do as a kid with Grandma. You got to meet Sandy. Sandy who is so sweet you can feel her from the doorway and are just drawn to her with your keen kid senses (just like Bonnie!). I just love to watch you getting a kick out of your Grandma, coaxing for more attention, and seeing her pour it on you. She's always been the best Grandma. Now I get to watch her in action telling me to stop carrying you and let you walk around (she doesn't know how meddlesome you can get!) and see her make faces at you and watch you follow her around with your open grin. You think she's pretty funny!

We laughed as you shoveled (and we mean shoveled) Grandma's extra oniony potato salad by the handful. You got to have a brown cow root beer float special on a hot day just like I did when I was young. You danced to our old toys and played piano swaying back and forth like Ray Charles completely "feeling it." Nana helped give you bath and get you ready for bed and say goodnight prayers over you. You fell into her arms and leaned in for kisses and cuddles just like I enjoy doing. You slept in my arms every day and night zonkered from all the fun you had swimming, playing, exploring, and charming. And it's those incredible homey memories that made your Nana and I cry as we said goodbye and stalled our tears with a goodbye prayer knowing we must separate.
